The sighting of the new moon of Zulhijjah to determine the date for Aidiladha will be held on Sunday, Sept 13 or 29 Zulkaedah, according to a statement from the Keeper of the Rulers' Seal.

The statement said, the Keeper of the Rulers' Seal Datuk Syed Danial Syed Ahmad would announce the date for Aidiladha over radio and television on the same night.

Yang di-Pertuan Agong Tuanku Abdul Halim Mu'adzam Shah had agreed to the date for the sighting of the new moon of Zulhijjah following the consent of the Rulers, it added.

The Conference of Rulers has also agreed that the Rukyah and Hisab methods be followed to determine the date of Aidiladha.

The sighting of the new moon would be made from specific locations across the country.

The locations are in Pontian Kecil, Johor; Falak Al-Khawarizmi Complex, Kampung Balik Batu, Tanjung Bidara, Melaka; Telok Kemang, Port Dickson, Negeri Sembilan; Bukit Melawati, Kuala Selangor, Selangor; Bukit Jugra, Banting, Kuala Langat, Selangor; Balai Cerap, Sabak Bernam, Selangor.

Pantai Pasir Panjang, Mukim Pengkalan Baru, Manjong, Perak; Pusat Falak Sheikh, Kuala Muda, Kedah; Kampung Pulau Sayak, Kuala Muda, Kedah; Pemandangan Indah, Pulau Langkawi, Kedah; Menara Alor Setar, Kedah; Bukit Besar, Kuala Terengganu, Terengganu; Bukit Geliga, Kemaman, Terengganu; Pulau Perhentian, Besut, Terengganu; Balai Cerap Kusza, Mukim Merang, Setiu, Terengganu.

Bukit Peraksi, Pasir Puteh; Bukit Kampung Tembeling, Mukim Manjur, Daerah Olak Jeram, Kuala Krai; Menara Bangunan SEDC, Jalan Tengku Putera Semerak and Kota Baharu, all in Kelantan.
