The investigation report on the cause for the Dauphin 9M-IGB helicopter crash which killed Rompin MP Tan Sri Jamaluddin Jarjis and five others in Semenyih last Saturday is expected to be ready in a month.

Transport Minister, Datuk Seri Liow Tiong Lai said investigations were now being conducted at the crash location to gather evidence, including parts of the helicopter and the recordings of witness accounts, so as to find the real cause of the tragedy.

"The black box found yesterday will be sent to the Air Accidents Investigation Branch (AAIB) in the United Kingdom today to be analysed for a preliminary report on the tragedy.

"It will take between three to four days to come up with the data, and a week for an analysis of the data, so we expect the process for a full investigation into the accident to take about a month," he told reporters after attending the handing-over ceremony of the Halia Bentong Geography Indicators Certificate and Intellectual Property Seminar held for Halia Bentong entrepreneurs here Monday.

The ceremony was also attended by Pahang Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Adnan Yaakob, Minister of Domestic Trade, Cooperatives and Consumerism Datuk Seri Hasan Malek, and Chairman of MyIPO Datuk Abdul Manan Ismail.

Liow urged all parties not to speculate on the incident as it could upset the victims' families.

When asked about the identity of operations assistant Aidana Baizieva, who had been the subject of much query, Liow once again stressed that the female victim was an employee of the helicopter company and not a co-pilot as reported earlier.
