Selangor police assured that the best security will be provided during the concert of American singer, Selena Gomez, scheduled on Monday.

Selangor deputy police chief, Datuk Mohd Fuad Abdul Latiff said the move was being taken following several objections from certain quarters.

He said the decision, on whether the concert should continue or cancel, was not the responsibility of the security forces but, nevertheless, the police would carry out duties to ensure the situation remained safe.

"If the concert proceeds, we must ensure it is orderly and if it is cancelled, we must monitor because there may be other parties who are not happy," he told reporters here today.

Mohd Fuad was met after the wearing of the Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP) rank for six out of nine inspectors of the Selangor Police contingent who were promoted recently.

Yesterday Selangor Menteri Besar, Datuk Seri Mohamed Azmin Ali said the state government did not have any problem in approving the organising of the international pop star's concert if all the conditions were met.

Mohamed Azmin was commenting on the objection to hold the concert by PAS Youth and Women wings.
