Search and rescue teams (SAR) Tuesday found a sarong, a bracelet and hypertension medicines in the forest about two kilometres from Kampung Palaman Bo'ow (next to Kampung Stass) where an old woman was believed to have gone missing since Sunday.

However, when SAR operations ended at 6pm on third day Tuesday, the woman, Rigek Anak Moseng, 73, of Kampung Stass, Bau was still missing.

Sarawak Fire and Rescue Department (JBPM) assistant director (operations) Tiong Ling Hii said the three items were confirmed to be the victim's belongings by her family.

Meanwhile, the search and rescue operation Tuesday was halted due to bad light and would resume this morning.

He said the search location was Tuesday divided into two areas namely Pelaman Bo'ow and Kampung Sebobok.

"Information gathered from witnesses showed the victim was last seen at Kampung Sebobok on March 31, 2017, located six kilometres from the Pos Kawalan Bomba (PKB)," he said.

The SAR operation team which was headed by Bau Fire and Rescue Station chief Ebby Hirwandy Sarbini comprised personnel of the station, police, Malaysian Armed Forces and 47 villagers. -BERNAMA
