KOTA KINABALU:Parti Cinta Sabah (PCS) hopes that the defeat in the Sabah State Election (PRN) will be a lesson for the party's candidates to face the next election.

Its president, Datuk Seri Anifah Aman said although victory was not in favour of PCS, his party was still proud of the responsibility shown by the people of Sabah.

“The people of Sabah have spoken and we accept that voice with humility and we respect it.

"However, do not forget we are just a very new party, less than two months old. We still get support in the form of votes even if we do not win," he said in a statement on Sunday.

Commenting further, the former Foreign Minister said he believed PCS could gain more support if they had enough time.

"However, I as the President of PCS hope, no matter what happens, do not stop from continuing to fight for your rights as a child of Sabah.

"A small number, but enough for a new party in a long struggle," he added.

In this regard, he stressed that PCS would continue to work together in fighting for the welfare of the people in the state.
