Women, Family and Community Development Minister Datuk Seri Rohani Abdul Karim today expressed condolence to the family of disabled teenager, Muhammad Firdaus Dullah, who died today.

The minister, in a statement here today said she was deeply saddened by the news because, as of this morning, the teenager was reported to be in healthy condition and did not show any symptoms of irregularity.

"Ever since he was put under the custody of the Social Welfare Department in Rumah Sinar Harapan Tuanku Ampuan Najihah in Seremban on Aug 21 last year, his condition had improved tremendously and currently weighed 27kg," she said.

The teenager was reported to have suffered epileptic fit during lunch time at the Rumah Sinar Harapan and was taken to Tunku Jaafar Seremban Hospital where he was pronounced dead at 1.15 pm.

The actual cause of death would only be ascertained after the post mortem tomorrow.

The 16-year-old boy was found severely malnourished and neglected in a unit of Taman Semarak Flats in Nilai, Negeri Sembilan, during a raid conducted by the state Immigration Department at 2.30 am on June 21, 2014.
