Family members of passengers and crew on the missing Malaysian Airlines MH370 airliner demanded that Malaysian officials retract Malaysia’s Department of Civil Aviation director-general, Datuk Azharuddin Abdul Rahman Thursday.

Passenger Anne Daisy’s daughter, Grace Subathirai said without concrete evidence the declaration was illegitimate.

“It should be retracted, and how could the DCA announce even before officials conclude search mission?” said Subathirai.

“I’m utterly disappointed by what happened on Thursday, we were not notified and not even informed about anything before the decision to hold the press conference was made,” said Subathirai after a press conference for next-of-kin was held here on Friday.

The DCA officially declared Thursday that the MH370 "an accident" and the search “remains a priority.”

The Boeing 777 disappeared on March 8, 2014, while flying from Kuala Lumpur to Beijing with 239 people on board.

Similar scenario had reportedly taken place in Beijing after family members bluntly rejected the declaration announced by the DCA chief.

Voice370 spokesperson has urged the Malaysian government to retract the statement citing it was null without hard evidence.

“We have stated this before and we will continue to do so, we are ready for all possibilities including dealing with the loss of our family member on board flight MH370.

“We would also like to reiterate that we don’t want any announcement about the death of family members without concrete evidence too,” said the spokesperson.

The spokesperson stated that their powers are limited compared to the government and hope that their voices would be heard and considered by the authorities.

In a sentimental plea to the Malaysian, Chinese and Australian governments, VoiceMH370 hopes the search mission for MH370 to continue.

“We are seeking other agencies including the International Civil Aviation Organisation (ICAO) and International Air Transport Association (IATA) to assist and convince the responsible quarters to pursue with the search mission until the plane is found.”
