The remains of the defence attaché at the Malaysian Embassy in Indonesia, Brig Gen Datuk Jalaludin Md Yusof, were flown home by the Malaysian Royal Air Force's C130 aircraft today.

The aircraft took off from the Halim Perdana Kusuma Airport here at 8.30am.

Also on board were his widow, Datin Saadah Mohamad and several senior military officers.

The plane will land in Batu Berendam, Malacca, where the body will then be taken to the deceased's hometown in Sungai Udang.

Also present at the airport to send off the remains were Malaysian Ambassador Datuk Seri Zahrain Mohamed Hashim and wife, Datin Seri Che Mahani Ismail, Permanent Representative of Malaysia to ASEAN Datuk Hasnudin Hamzah, Deputy Ambassador Roseli Abdul and other senior embassy officials.

Earlier, a funeral prayer was held at the official residence of the Malaysian Ambassador, in Jalan Rasuna Said, Kuningan, here.

Jalaludin, 57, died after collapsing in the main hall of the Embassy of Malaysia after a buka puasa event organised by the embassy yesterday.

He leaves behind a wife and five children.
