: Penang is expected to experience continuous rains until December, with a possibility of flash floods in low-lying areas.
According to a spokesman of the Penang Meteorological Department, more rain is expected in the afternoons during November and early December.
"There will be less rain from mid-December until February," he told Bernama Thursday.
According to weather forecasts posted on the department's website, the next seven days beginning yesterday until Wednesday, Nov 16, would see rain in one or two places in the afternoons and nights.
Thunderstorms have also been forecast for Monday afternoon (Nov 14).
Last Monday, the state saw continuous rain which began at midnight, causing flash floods in some areas, including Jalan P.Ramlee and Bandar Baru Air Itam as well as a landslide along the main road linking Teluk Bahang and George Town.
A week earlier, Penang was also hit by flash floods during the Deepavali festival on Oct 29 which caused hundreds of homes in the city to be inundated by water.
Weather on the island Wednesday until Thursday afternoon has been good. -- BERNAMA
