Police have confirmed that heart attack was the cause of death of a man found in his car at Kilometre 290, PLUS highway on Monday.

In the 10.30am incident, victim Azman Ab Wahad, 54 was found in a Perodua Alza at a petrol station near the Simpang Pulai R&R on Monday.

Ipoh district police chief ACP Sum Chang Keong said police have ruled out foul play and added that post mortem showed the victim had died because of a heart attack.

“The victim was found in the driver sear by the petrol station staff on Monday and had then contacted the police,” he told Astro AWANI.

“CCTV recording show that the victim had entered his car at 7.30pm Sunday and did not move from there after that,” he added.

He said the police had then requested help from the Fire and Rescue Department to help break the car window to retrieve the victim.

He said the victim was found with car doors locked and engine running.

Post-mortem report revealed that the victim had died of heart attack.

Police have ruled out any foul play or criminal elements.

The case has been classified as sudden death.
