Five members of Parliament were appointed today into the Public Accounts Committee (PAC) to replace those who had moved to government positions in the last Cabinet reshuffle.

The MPs are Datuk Dr Makin @ Marcus Mojigoh (BN-Putatan), Datuk Ahmad Hamzah (BN-Jasin) and Datuk Nawawi Ahmad (BN-Langkawi).

They will be replacing Datuk Madius Tangau (BN-Tuaran), Datuk Mas Ermieyati Shamsudin (BN-Masjid Tanah) and Datuk Seri Reezal Merican Naina Merican (BN-Kepala Batas).

The three MPS had to relinquish their position in the PAC following their appointment into the government in the July's Cabinet reshuffle.

Meanwhile, Datuk Koh Nai Kwong (BN-Alor Gajah) was picked to replace Datuk Chua Tee Yong (BN-Labis) in the PAC.

Chua was appointed as the Finance deputy minister in the Jun 2014 Cabinet reshuffle.

Datuk Takiyuddin Hassan (PAS-Kota Bharu) will replace Datuk Kamaruddin Jaafar (PKR-Tumpat) who left the Islamic party to join PKR.

With the new appointments, the PAC now has 14 members, including its chairman Rompin MP Datuk Hasan Arifin. Hassan was appointed last week to replace Datuk Nur Jazlan Mohamed.

The PAC was investigating the 1Malaysia Development Berhad (1MDB) before its probes were halted following the appointment of its members into the Cabinet.
