The National Higher Education Fund Corporation (PTPTN) has disbursed RM56.39 billion in loans to 2.49 million borrowers as of April this year.

Its chairman, Datuk Shamsul Anuar Nasarah, said on average, PTPTN required RM5 billion each year to continue providing loans to new and existing borrowers.

As such, he said the repayment of loans from those who have graduated was very important to ensure that the next generation of students could also benefit from the fund.

"Repayment from previous borrowers is crucial to ensure that the fund can be made available for others, and for those who are still learning, they should utilise the money as best as possible for their education," he said.

Shamsul Anuar was speaking at the 11th convocation ceremony of the Moral Competence Success (MCS) College here on Monday.

He also handed over the scrolls to graduates from various programmes including Diploma in Office Administration, Multimedia, Accounting, IT Management, Creative Multimedia and Early Childhood Education.
