The Form Three Assessment (PT3) introduced for the first time this year, has attracted a mixed bag of responses and perceptions from various quarters including students, parents and teachers.

The examinations' results were made rather low key. And to date, no official data by the Education Ministry on the examinations has been released, a stark contrast to that when Penilaian Menengah Rendah (PMR) examinations results were announced, last year.

The results and assessments for students’ PT3 were done by their respective schools.

Sekolah Bukit Damansara Parents Teachers Association head, Nik Faruk Fadzil when met during an interview with Astro AWANI on Monday said, parents were not privy to the extensive assessment and knowledge on PT3.

Meanwhile, Gombak Zone PTA advisor council chairman, Abdul Rahman Abdullah said, PT3 is aimed at changing the perception of students and their mentalities based on text books, apart from getting their parents to cooperate with the schools to prepare students to sit for PT3 examinations.

This year is the first year PT3 examinations have been introduced since PMR was introduced since 1993.
