A private college student was charged in the Magistrate's Court, here, on Friday with killing his elder sister at their house in Kota Kemuning, here, last week.

Toh Wei Jun, 18, is alleged to have murdered Toh Wei Teen, 22, at their house in Taman Kemuning Utama, Section 33, here, between 11.12pm on Oct 25 and 3.30am on Oct 26, 2014.

The accused, the youngest of three siblings, was charged under Section 302 of the Penal Code which carries a mandatory death sentence.

Wei Jun nodded his head after the charge was read to him in English by a court interpreter. However, no plea was recorded.

Magistrate Norshakinah Ahmad Kamarudin fixed Dec 1 for remention of the case while waiting for the chemist report and post-mortem report.

The accused was represented by counsel Datuk Arunan Selvaraj while DPP Rustam Sanip appeared for the prosecution.

During the proceeding, the mother of the accused was seen to be in tears throughout and being consoled by her husband and family members.

According to press reports, the body of Wei Teen, the second child in the family and a student of Universiti Malaysia Sabah, was found at the door to her room with a slash wound on her neck.
