Service at the Kelana Jaya LRT line was interrupted this morning due to a disruption in electrical supply in one of the trains from the Setiawangsa station going towards KLCC station.

A Rapid Rail Sdn Bhd spokesperson said the interruption had caused the train services to be halted immediately and commuters were asked to get off the train due to safety factor.

Several pictures have also been posted on social media showing the situation whereby LRT commuters were seen walking to the nearest station on the rail track in the rain.

Alternative LRT trains from Putra Heights to Wangsa Maju station have reportedly been deployed to the affected stations since 10am.

A press conference pertaining to the latest incident involving LRT trains will be held at the Rapid Rail headquarters at 3pm today.

On Wednesday, many RapidKL LRT commuters were held up at several stations due to "glitches in the signalling and communication system" affecting trains between Ampang Park and Dang Wangi stations.

Kelana Jaya LRT Line chief operating officer Ismail Abdullah said, commuters who entered the paid area of the stations on that day could seek a refund from the customer service offices.
