The police are looking for two individuals for allegedly beating up a man with a cane at the victim's home in Bandar Baru Klang near here on Wednesday.

In the 3.30pm incident, the 52-year-old victim who was in an argument with his wife, was approached by a neighbour who tried to calm down the man.

In a statement here today, Royal Malaysia Police Corporate Communications chief, SAC Datin Asmawati Ahmad said the victim scolded the neighbour for interfering in his family affairs.

She said the neighbour left the house, only to return with a friend before hitting the victim with a cane, adding that the incident was recorded with a mobile phone.

"The incident was believed to have been provoked by the victim who scolded and cursed the assailant with obscene words," she said, adding that the victim who sustained body injuries sought treatment at the Tengku Ampuan Rahimah Hospital in Klang.

Two recordings of the incident which showed the victim being repeatedly beaten with a cane has gone viral on social media, drawing flak from netizens.
