Police are seeking two Latin Americans to facilitate investigations into a number of house break-in cases in Klang Valley recently.

District Police chief ACP Shafien Mamat said the duo were believed to have used a hired Honda Accord to carry out their spree.

He said the duo's activities came to light on Oct 6 when they attempted to break into a house at Section 13 in Shah Alam around 7.30pm.

"The houseowner became aware of their presence and quickly contacted the police. They fled, leaving the car at the roadside.

"A police patrol managed to track them to a taxi but before the personnel could nab them, they escaped into a nearby jungle," he told reporters here Friday.

Shafien said various house break-in tools were found inside the vehicle used by the duo and further investigations led police to a house in Cyberjaya near here, about 8.30pm on Oct 10.

"Police found an assortment of items including cash, watches, shoes and branded handbags such as Louis Vuitton and Chanel inside a room. We believe these were collected for sale outside the country.

"There was also an identity card which probably belonged to one of the suspects and police will interview other suspects that might be involved in the break-ins," he said.

He said the value of the loot was around RM250,000 and the cases were being investigated under Section 457 of the Penal Code. -- Bernama
