Police are now closing in on three Rohingya siblings in connection with the murder of a Myanmar man at a house in Kampung Pak Madah, Marang yesterday.

Terengganu Criminal Investigation Department chief ACP Wan Abd Aziz Wan Hamzah said one of the main suspects, a 30-year-old man, was a scrap items collector in Bukit Payung area.

"Now, he - along with his wife and two children, aged 13 and four months, - and his two siblings have run away," he said in a statement here today.

In the 11pm incident, the victim, aged 35, was found dead at the house by his neighour after hearing a quarrel while other tenants had fled the scene.

"Checks (at the scene) revealed that there were several stab wounds in the victim's chest and on the back. We do not rule out that the victim had been killed in a group by the three suspects," said Wan Abd Aziz.

He also said police had seized several items such as knives, hammer, machete, grinder, drill and three helmets with bloodstains, believed to be used in the killing.

The victim's body was sent to the Sultanah Nur Zahirah Hospital for post-mortem. - BERNAMA
