Three men believed to have robbed a couple in Kampung Tekek, Pulau Tioman last night have been arrested by police.

Rompin police chief DSP Johari Jahaya said the three suspects were arrested with the help of villagers at 9am at the jetty of Kampung Genting, Pulau Tioman.

"The suspects aged in the 30s were behaving suspiciously and were trying to leave Pulau Tioman.

"Initial investigation found that the suspects only arrived in Pulau Tioman a week ago," he told Bernama today.
Police seized a dagger and cash amounting RM280 from the suspects.

In the incident at 9pm last night, a couple who were watching television were robbed by three masked men armed with daggers.

The victim,58, was shocked when the suspect suddenly entered the house and strangled his neck from behind before brandishing a dagger.

Johari said the victim suffered injury to the head, arm and finger after he struggled with the suspects.

"After the attack, the suspects ranscaked the house and stole a mobile phone and cash amounting RM300."
The victim received eight stitches in the head and four stitches in his finger at Kampung Tekek health clinic.

His 54 year-old wife did not suffer any injuries.

The three suspects have no criminal record and the case is being investigated under Section 394 of the Penal Code.
