Perseid meteor showers from Monday night to Tuesday dawn
KUALA LUMPUR: This year's Perseid meteor showers are expected to put up a display of more than 100 showers starting 11 pm Monday night to early Tuesday morning, which can be seen from any open space with clear skies.

National Space Agency (Angkasa), head of space science research unit, Mhd Fairos Asillam said the annual event which occurs every August was among the most spectacular as it was clearer and brighter than others and visible to the naked eye.
"The Perseid meteor showers occurs as the Earth passes through the Swift-Tuttle comet's dusty trail and its debris hurtle into the planet's atmosphere and flare up in brilliant meteors or shooting stars," he said in a statement here today.

He said the best to time to observe the meteor showers was at 11 pm Monday night until the dawn of Tuesday.
