People from all walks of life, whether they realise it or not, have enjoyed and benefited from the development brought by UMNO and Barisan Nasional (BN), says chairman of UMNO Welfare Bureau Datuk Shamsul Anuar Nasarah.

"This is not the first time UMNO has helped the people, including those in Sabah. We have been doing this for 71 years. We are not like the Parti Keadilan Rakyat, or DAP, or PAS, or Amanah or any new political party in this state.

"They are not helping the people. They are just fighting for power to lead," he said at the "UMNO Bantu Rakyat" (UMNO Helps the People) programme here today.

The programme was graced by Papar UMNO chief Datuk Abdul Rahim Ismail and was also attended by Papar MP Datuk Rosnah Abdul Rashid Shirlin.

While quoting Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak at the similar programme in Selangor last week, Shamsul Anuar said when it comes to helping the people, no one could match the achievements recorded by UMNO and BN.

As such, he said the people should continue giving their support to Najib, his deputy Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi and Sabah Chief Minister Datuk Seri Musa Aman despite the various allegations and lies hurled at them and their leadership.

At the event, 200 poor families and 100 single mothers received donation hampers, while 100 orphans received cash aid. UMNO also assisted 200 students to open the National Education Saving Scheme (SSPN) account and Tabung Haji account for free.
