The Public Accounts Committee will not interfere in the investigation carried out by the special task force which was set up to look into Wall Street Journal (WSJ) allegation of misappropriation of funds.

PAC chairman Datuk Nur Jazlan Mohamed said investigations into the matter is now under the special task force, comprising Attorney General, Auditor General, Police and the Malaysian Anti Corruption Commission (MACC).

"We do not want to interfere into their investigation as they have more access to probe further according to their respective fields," he said at a press conference today.

"Let them conclude their investigation and PAC will call for explanation," he added.

On March 4, Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak had ordered the Auditor-General to independently verify the accounts of 1MDB.

The PAC begun its investigative proceedings into the 1MDB scandal on May 19.

Following a special meeting on April 30, the PAC decided to begin investigations on 1MDB financial affairs.
