MEMBERS of the Malaysian BDS movement marched the short route from the As-Syakirin mosque (KLCC) to the Australian High Commission on Friday to protest that nation’s support for Israel’s declaration of Jerusalem as its capital.

As chairman of BDS Malaysia, I urge all Malaysians to support all efforts to stop Israel’s high-handedness and their continued subjugation of the Palestinian people and the blatant suppression of the rights of Gazans.

I applaud the stand of the Malaysian government in condemning the Australian government for turning a blind eye on the atrocities perpetrated by Israel in denying the human rights of the oppressed peoples of Palestine, particularly those living under Israeli occupation in Gaza.

BDS is hopeful for greater government support and wishes to convey its gratitude for the presence of Federal Territories Minister, Khalid Abdul Samad at the protest march organized at the completion of Friday prayers.

I would like all political parties to lend their full support to show solidarity with the Palestinian people.
