Prime Minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin is undergoing quarantine at home for 14 days starting this afternoon.

The Prime Minister's Office (PMO) said in a statement that one of the officials attending the post-Cabinet meeting in his office had tested positive for COVID-19.

“The Prime Minister has chaired a post-Cabinet meeting at the Prime Minister's Office on Thursday, May 20, 2020. An official present at the meeting has been confirmed positive COVID-19.

“The Prime Minister passed the COVID-19 screening test this morning and confirmed it was negative.

"However, in accordance with the COVID-19 Contact Monitoring and Observation Order (Section 15 (1) of Act 342), the Prime Minister will have to undergo quarantine at home for 14 days beginning this afternoon," the statement said.

Besides Muhyiddin, all the members of the meeting were also instructed to undergo a screening test and quarantine at their home for 14 days starting today.

The statement also said that every meeting held at the Prime Minister's Office practised strict social distancing and health care at all times.
