Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak will launch the National Transformation Programme (NTP) Annual Report 2015 in an address to the nation tonight.

The Performance Management and Delivery Unit of the Prime Minister's Department (Pemandu) in a statement on Monday night, said the launch of the report would be broadcast live at 8.30pm and also via live stream online.

The televised broadcast will also be aired live on Astro AWANI 501 and on AWANI Live TV online.

The statement said the prime minister's speech would focus on progress recorded under the programme in 2015, and the last five years as a result of the NTP implementation.

"Opportunities for economic empowerment have been delivered, rural as well as urban infrastructure has seen vast improvement compared to five years ago and the government has reinvented itself in several areas to create 'customer-oriented' public service delivery," the statement said.

Malaysia embarked on an ambitious 10-year transformation plan in 2010 to drive Malaysia towards high income status by 2020, through sustainable and inclusive measures.

Anchored on the aspirations of the prime minister's New Economic Model, the transformation programme is implemented via the National Key Results Areas under the Government Transformation Programme and Economic Transformation Programme's National Key Economic Areas and Strategic Reform Initiatives.
