Police have classified as murder the death of five-year-old Noor Amila Edrus Norsham after his remains were found in the undergrowth in Kampung Kemensah, Hulu Kelang at about 12.30pm Thursday.

The child was reported missing in Jinjang on Aug 11.

Since the child was reported missing, the case had been investigated as a missing person's case but now it was being probed as a kidnapping case under Section 363 of the Penal Code after the man was arrested.

"And after the remains were found today, the case is being probed under Section 302 of the Penal Code for murder," he said, pointing out that the motive was still under investigation.
