Datuk Seri Hishammuddin Tun Hussein has criticized the actions of PKR President, Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim, who was still trying to play up the issue of the purported loss of helicopters when the former was Minister of Defence.

Hishammuddin, who is now Foreign Minister, said the issue should not be recycled after the Army Chief, General Tan Sri Ahmad Hasbullah Mohd Nawawi, had announced that the Air Force would receive six MD-530G type helicopters later this year.

“The Ministry of Defence does not just involve helicopters and I have been called by the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) to give evidence. If that's the only issue he (Anwar) could raise... so bring it on," he said.

He was commenting on the alleged purchase of six RM300 million MD-530G type helicopters that had not been received despite the purchase was made when he was Defence Minister in the previous government.

Hishammuddin declined to comment further, adding that he would now focus only on his ministry.

"If that is what he (Anwar) has, I want to focus my attention on Wisma Putra," he said.
