UMNO veteran UMNO Tengku Razaleigh Hamzah today stressed that he has no ambitions of becoming the country's next prime minister.

“Thank you but I’m too old. I have no ambitions of becoming prime minister,” he said at a press conference today.

“I’m very happy being where I am now,” he added.

The Kelantan prince fondly known as Ku Li also said he has no knowledge of the statutory declaration (SD) endorsing him as the next prime minister.

"I saw it in Facebook. Its addressed to the Agong with my name as an example, not promoting me or naming me to be prime minister,” he said adding that only the King can appoint a prime minister.

He also stressed that he has not been involved in any movement including former Prime Minister Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad's move to oust Datuk Seri Najib Razak.

"Many people over-reacted when I signed the Kelantan Declaration. They accused me of turncoat. But I have never been part of any movement, so how can anyone accused me now?

"Kelantan Declaration is a usual thing for a political party. Gimmicks, and has no legal effect. So what is the matter? It does not change my stand on good governance," he said at a press conference today.

The Gua Musang MP said he also never supported Dr Mahathir's Save Malaysia campaign as it was not in accordance with the Constitution.

"I've told him that this does not follow the Constitution. I've said I don't support it," he added.
