Perak police will seek a remand order for Section 302 of the Penal Code on two Royal Malaysian Navy (RMN) personnel who are currently remanded for three days since Oct 7 under Section 325/506 of the Penal Code (voluntarily causing grievous hurt/criminal intimidation).

The duo are being held to facilitate investigations into the death of two RMN personnel, Nik Muhammad Baihaqy Nik Mat, 28, and Muhammad Lailatuliman Mohd Sukri, 26, on Sept 29 in the detention room at Sungai Wangi, Sitiawan here.

Perak Criminal Investigation Department chief Datuk Gan Tian Kee said police would apply for the remand order on the suspects aged 29 and 37 through the Seri Manjung Magistrate's Court tomorrow.

The suspects were detained following police reports lodged by two other personnel aged 30 on Oct 2, about being beaten up in the same detention room.

To date, seven suspects aged between 24 and 44 are being remanded under Section 302 to assist investigations into the death of the two personnel.
