The National squad will revert to its old name 'Harimau Malaya' instead of 'Harimau Malaysia' as it was known recently.

Football Association of Malaysia (FAM) secretary-general Datuk Hamidin Mohd Amin said the decision to revert to the old name was following a directive from newly elected FAM president Tunku Ismail Sultan Ibrahim.

"The change in name was in line with the request from fans who wanted to remain steadfast to history because the National team was known as 'Harimau Malaya' in the old days.

"We hope the change in name will be the beginning of a new era for football in the country," he said in an official entry of the FAM Facebook, today. -- BERNAMA
