Police have identified three other men linked to a video clip song 'Oh My God' by infamous local rapper Namewee which allegedly insults Islam.

Penang police chief Datuk Abdul Ghafar Rajab said the police were tracking down the trio, believed to be foreigners.

He said Namewee, 33, whose real name was Wee Meng Chee, was currently overseas.

"We have gone to two of his addresses, in Kuala Lumpur and Selangor, but he was not there...we are awaiting his return to record his statement," he told reporters after a handing-over of duties ceremony at the Penang Narcotics Criminal Investigation Department (CID) here today.

At the ceremony, Supt Maidu Abdu Bakar who was previously Malacca CID chief, took over the baton of office from Penang CID acting deputy head, DSP Ng Ah Thian.

Abdul Ghafar said the police had identified several individuals, namely the director, producer and musicians involved in the making of the video clip.

He said the police had so far recorded statements of four individuals from mosque, temple and church committees whose premises Namewee had allegedly used in the video clip.

The 4.05-minute video clip which featured four men singing in Mandarin and insulting Islam, had gone viral. As of yesterday, five police reports have been lodged by various parties.

In a separate development, Abdul Ghafar said the police had tightened security at the City Stadium here for the Super League match between Penang and Johor Darul Ta'zim (JDT) tomorrow.

A total of 250 officers and staff, including those from the Federal Reserve Unit will be on duty during the match.

Abdul Ghafar warned football fans to behave and not provoke one another during the match.
