Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak’s son was not involved in the auditing process of 1Malaysia Development Berhad (1MDB) which was handled by Deloitte & Co.

Public Accounts Committee (PAC) chairman Datuk Nur Jazlan Mohamed who confirmed this also denied any conflict of interest in the matter.

Nur Jazlan said Najib’s son, Nizar Najib was working in another department of the firm as a financial services advisor.

He said Nizar did not have any power or influence in the auditing process.

Nur Jazlan also confirmed that the PAC had questioned Deloitte on the issue. The auditing company took over 1MDB’s auditing from KPMG after March 2013.

Nizar began his career at Deloitte in 20014 as a consultant.
