Datuk Seri Najib Razak today wants all Royal Malaysia Police (PDRM) personnel to give their best service to the people.

While thanking the police for their sacrifices in conjunction with the 210th Police Day today, the Prime Minister urged the people to continue boosting ties with the police.

"I wish to remind all PDRM personnel - wear the badge and uniform with pride and give the best service to the people.

"Protect and assist them the way we shelter and assist our own family and friends," said Najib via his latest jottings on his official Facebook.

According to Najib, in the past, career as teachers and policemen were held in awe and respected by every strata of society but today, due to a few black sheep among policemen, the others were mocked.

"Actually, the majority of our policemen serve with full dedication, have very good manners and are responsible," he said.

Via the Facebook jottings, Najib also shared the daily deeds and sacrifices of some PDRM personnel who looked after his security.

He said their sacrifices were not merely in terms of energy and time, in fact the time with their beloved families was also curtailed.

"They start work before I wake up. Their children are already asleep when they return home," he said.

"It is tiring to stand, stay alert, eat at uncertain times, and at times they are soaked by the rain or have to endure the blistering sun," he said.

According to Najib, all the sacrifices was to ensure he could carry out his obligations as prime minister in the best possible manner. --Bernama
