MACC arrest Rural and Regional Development Ministry official for abuse of power and graft

The Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) today arrested a secretary-general (KSU) of Ministry of Rural and Regional Development (KKLW) over alleged abuse of power and for receiving bribes.

The 'Datuk', 59, was arrested at his Subang Jaya residence in Selangor at 8am today for his part, in receiving bribes during his previous appointments at several Ministries.

Cash and gold nuggets amounting to RM3 million were also seized during the arrest.

Azimah returns after being lost in Madinah for a year

Nor Azimah Ibrahim, 32, who was reported missing on Dec 19 2015 in Madinah, Saudi Arabia while performing the umrah together with her parents, returned home on Wednesday.

Her father, Ibrahim Abdul Rahman, 55, said he only came to know of her daughter's arrival at the KL International Airport (KLIA) via his friend's WhatApps at 3pm.

Former Selangor coach Zainal questions FAS for keeping mum over his termination

Former Selangor head coach Zainal Abidin Hassan who was sacked midway through his contract has questioned the professional approach of the Football Association of Malaysia (FAS) team management.

The former international turned coach was unhappy with Selangor for 'keeping mum' over the issue since there has been no official letter stating his termination of contract.

Zainal says he is not interested in keeping the job but need an official termination letter to move on with his career.

Alli double for Tottenham ends Chelsea's winning streak

Indonesian police probe distribution of 'Jokowi undercover' book

The police are investigating the sale and distribution of a book that allegedly incited hatred towards President Joko Widodo, after having arrested the author Bambang Tri Mulyono.

Police head of public relations Boy Rafli Amar said it was learnt that the book, 'Jokowi Undercover', was being sold on social media by the author himself but police were also looking into its distribution.

Police banned the book after it was found it allegedly slandered and insulted the Indonesian President.
