More than 90 policemen will be involved in the grave digging operation at the Mata Ayer reserve forest in Lubuk Sireh, Padang Besar, Perlis, which will begin today.

Perlis police chief SAC Shafie Ismail said more than 25 personnel had been mobilised today to take logistics equipment to the site.

"We have begun sending logistics equipment, as well as food, drink, tents, and they will camp at this second site tonight, and God willing, dig up another 91 graves from tomorrow," he told reporters, Wednesday.

He explained that operation had to be stopped the past two days to give some rest to the personnel involved, considering the fact that the earlier operation was carried out with limited supporting equipment.

Recently, Shafie was reported as saying that 91 graves had been identified at the forested area, which is just about 100m from the Thai border.

For this second phase of the operation, Thai authorities have allowed the use of the Ban Talok route in Thailand to bring out the bodies, which will take about an hour.
