Bank Rakyat will hold open days at 17 branches nationwide, starting today, on Sept 19 and 26 to provide assistance to customers to defer financing payments, after the loan moratorium ends on Sept 30.

Bank Rakyat chief executive officer (CEO) Datuk Rosman Mohamed said the branches involved were in Johor Bahru, Johor; Jalan Hang Tuah, Melaka; Seremban, Negeri Sembilan; Precinct 8, Putrajaya; Seksyen 14, Shah Alam; Sungai Buloh, Selangor as well as Jalan Tangsi and Jalan Ipoh, Kuala Lumpur.

Other branches include Medan Gopeng in Ipoh and Teluk Intan, Perak; Bukit Mertajam, Penang; Temerloh, Kuantan, Pahang; Kuala Terengganu, Terengganu; Kota Bharu, Kelantan; Satok, Kuching, Sarawak and Kota Kinabalu, Sabah.

“The open day will be held from 10 am to 3 pm. We can discuss and will try to help affected customers and those who need help,” he told a press conference after the Bank Rakyat dinner with media practitioners here, last night.

Also present was Bank Rakyat deputy CEO, Business, Dr Mohammad Hanis Osman.

Elaborating further, Rosman said the bank had begun to receive numerous applications for assistance from customers who were facing difficulties to continue their financing payment after the moratorium period ends on Sept 30.

“Regarding the number of applications received, the process is ongoing and we can see that the trend is increasing. God willing, Bank Rakyat is ready to assist our customers in any way we can,” he added.

Meanwhile, Rosman said Bank Rakyat organised the Mai Pakat Mai@Langkawi Carnival starting from yesterday (Sept 11) to Oct 10 to give customers a chance to win attractive prizes worth up to RM12,000.

“Customers only have to subscribe to any of our products at the Langkawi branch and Ar-Rahnu X’Change Langkawi to be eligible to win prizes through a lucky draw.

“Among the prizes are a motorcycle, bicycle, laptop, mobile phone, air fryer and RM1,000 in cash,” he said.
