The man believed to have molested a Year Two pupil in a school compound here last Monday has been remanded for four days from today to facilitate further investigation into the case.

Dungun District Police chief Supt Ahmad Zailani Yaacub said the 19-year-old suspect was also tested positive for methamphetamine.

Last Monday, the pupil was reported to have been allegedly molested in a storeroom of the school by the unknown suspect at 1.30 pm.

She was said to have finished the lessons in the morning session and was waiting for the afternoon session class when she was approached by the man who asked her to go to the storeroom.

The suspect, however, surrendered himself to the police here at 4.15 pm yesterday and the case is being investigated under Section 354 of the Penal Code.
