The Ministry of Health (MoH) is refining its standard operating procedure (SOP) involving barber shops before allowing the business to resume under the Conditional Movement Control Order (CMCO).

Health director-general Datuk Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah said it included obtaining data on the number of foreign workers involved in the industry.

He explained that MOH was aware the industry involved contact with customers and that proper SOP is necessary to prevent the spread of COVID-19 infections.

“So, this is the data we need to get before we can propose for barber shops to reopen the business.

"But what is certain the SOP has been prepared and the MOH is looking at the SOP and we are refining them for implementation," he said at a press conference here today.
