Director-General of Health Datuk Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah has confirmed another new cluster involving a construction site in Kuala Lumpur after 28 foreign workers were reported positive for COVID-19.

He said the ministry was investigating the possibility of the group getting infections from other clusters including the Sri Petaling tabligh cluster, Wholesale Market and Kampung Baru.

"After the initial investigation was conducted, it was found there was a new cluster, the Kuala Lumpur construction site cluster, of which there were 28 cases but there was no increase yesterday,” he said in his daily press conference here on Sunday.

MoH is also looking for solid evidence to link all the clusters involved with the construction site cluster.

"We have been investigating the construction site and initially it may have been related to the other clusters.

“Those involved were living in an apartment, so they were infected with another cluster. It is still under investigation, possibly related to the Sri Petaling cluster, Wholesale Market and Kampung Baru. The investigation is still ongoing to find out if there is any connection.

"So far there is no solid evidence to associate with the cluster. So, we call it the construction cluster," he said.
