A container carrying high technology military radar equipment at the Tanjung Pelepas Port (PTP) had not gone missing as reported and had safely arrived in Holland.

Johor Port Authority (LPJ) general manager Muhammad Razif Ahmad said the container was under constant surveillance by the port authority and other government agencies and was loaded onto the Emma Maersk container vessel on June 3 and had safely arrived at its destination, the Rotterdam Port, Holland.

"LPJ would like to deny the press reports claiming that there was a container carrying high-tech military radar equipment had gone missing at the PTP.

"The said container was in transhipment at PTP, and we at the PTP had worked with other government agencies, especially the Royal Malaysian Customs Department, which was also upgrading the compliance level of the internal Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) for releasing trade goods which require a special permit under the Strategic Trade Act (STA) 2010," Muhammad Razif said in a statement here today.

A local English daily today reported that a container with military radar equipment which was on its way from Australia to Holland had gone missing while on transit in PTP. - BERNAMA
