A Sabah political party leader, who was being detained to assist investigation on the misappropriation of a RM180 million fund for rural projects in the state, was admitted to the KPJ Damai Hospital, near here last night.

According to sources, the 46-year-old man, whose remand was extended by three days beginning yesterday to assist in the case, was admitted to he hospital due to lack of water in the body and high blood pressure.

However, the latest condition of the individual concerned had yet to be determined.

The individual was among seven people detained by the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission under Section 17A of the MACC Act 2009 regarding the misappropriation of the rural project fund amounting to RM180 million which was part of the RM1.5 billion fund estimated to have been misappropriated in a ministry between the year 2009 and 2015.
