The Communications and Multimedia Ministry through the Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission (MCMC) will be taking measures to boost telecommunication services during the Aidilfitri festive period to avoid disruptions.

Its deputy minister Datuk Jailani Johari said MCMC was in the process of optimising the signal transmission system as well as installing mobile units such as Cellular on Wheels (CoW), pico BTS, Micro BTS, RAN sharing Multiple Operator (RAMO) for 2G, 3G, LTE signals at Rest and Service Areas (R&R), highways and major cities.

"Our team will be ready, with enough equipment for any eventuality over the festive period," he told reporters here today.

Commenting on the use of postage services through Pos Malaysia ahead of Aidilfitri, he advised consumers to post their letters or parcels before June 23, to ensure they could be delivered before Hari Raya Aidilfitri.

"The postmen or postal workers are heroes, because they work very hard to deliver the goods to their destinations properly," he said.
