The managements of homes with strata are allowed to operate under the Movement Control Order (MCO), said Senior Minister (Security Cluster) Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob.

''To facilitate the managements of homes with strata, the meeting agreed to allow the managements to operate under the MCO whereby only two personnel are allowed to work,'' he said.

He said this at a media conference after chairing the Special Ministerial Committee Meeting on COVID-19 here today.

Commenting on the proposal for the government and the Public Sector Home Financing Board (LPPSA) to temporarily suspend repayment of public servants' housing loans, he said the matter required discussions first.

"So far there has been no discussion at the special ministerial meeting, if it is raised we will discuss the matter or maybe at a special cabinet committee meeting," he said.

Bernama reported that the Congress of the Unions of Employees in the Public and Civil Services (CUEPACS) today recommended that the government and LPPSA temporarily suspend repayment of the public servants' housing loans, made through LPPSA.

CUEPACS President Adnan Mat said in a press release that the postponement was apt and in line with the six-month delay in the loan repayment or moratorium imposed by banking institutions following the outbreak of the COVID-19 epidemic.

Meanwhile, Ismail Sabri said parents do not have to worry about their children who were still placed in Institutions of Higher Education following the MCO as everything was managed by the Ministry of Higher Education (KPT).

"So parents do not be anxious leaving it to KPT, god willing their children will be well taken care of, their welfare will be looked after," he said.
