Malaysia Airports Holdings Berhad (MAHB) is conducting a comprehensive investigation following the dissemination of a closed-circuit television camera (CCTV ) over the murder of the elder half-brother of North Korean leader, Kim Jong Un at klia2 on Feb 13.

The 2.33-second video showing the apparent assassination of Jong Nam, has been making its round on social media since Sunday.

MAHB Managing Director, Datuk Badlisham Ghazali, who is frustrated over the incident stressed that stern action will be taken against employees responsible in distributing the video.

Aside from the investigation, MAHB has lodged a police report in ensuring that a police probe to find the responsible quarters behind the distribution of the video.

“MAHB views the leakage of the CCTV footage serious and we have done a police report for them to investigate.

“At the same time, MAHB has launched a comprehensive investigation to look at the procedures if MAHB employee was responsible in the leakage. At this point in time, we haven’t found anything yet.

“Based on the footage, we learnt that the recording was done using a mobile phone, so let the police conduct the probe and once we have identified the individual, stern action will be taken,” said Badlisham to Astro AWANI here today.

He added that the copies of the footage have been given to the police via proper channel.

Jong Nam was at the klia2 at 8am to catch a flight to Macau when he was attacked by two women, one of whom covered his face with what was believed to be a poison-laced cloth.

Jong Nam, who carried a passport bearing the name Kim Chol, reportedly died on the way to the Putrajaya Hospital.
