Popular television host and entertainment personality Datuk Mahadzir Lokman has been transferred to a normal ward at the Universiti Malaya Medical Centre (PPUM) and is in stable condition.

According to his brother Danial, the transfer from the intensive care unit to the normal ward took place today and Mahadzir was expected to undergo treatment for another week before doctors could certify that he is well enough to be discharged.

"He is in good spirits since yesterday and able to have conversation with visitors," Danial told Bernama.

Earlier today, Danial said his brother was no longer on breathing support, had become more alert and was able carry out conversation albeit still weak.

Meanwhile, in the pictures shared by his brother, the ever cheerful and warm Mahadzir, wearing a long sleeved black t-shirt, was seen healthy and spirited with his charming smile, showing a thumbs-up while lying on his hospital bed.

On Sept 24, the 60-year old Mahadzir was reported to be in critical condition and was warded at the ICU in PPUM after his family found him unconscious earlier that day. -- Bernama
