The Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) on Thursday announced that it has recorded a statement from SRC International Sdn Bhd (SRC) managing director Nik Faisal Ariff Kamil over issues concerning the company and political funding of RM2.6 million.

"Two other individuals needed by the MACC have been contacted and efforts are being taken to have their statements recorded," the commission said in a brief statement.

As such, MACC will not be needing the Royal Malaysian Police and Interpol's assistance to get access to those individuals, the statement said.

On Aug 22, MACC investigations director Datuk Azam Baki was reported as saying that the commission would need Nik Faisal and two other individuals, namely SRC International director Datuk Suboh Md Yassin and businessman Low Taek Jho, also known as "Jho Low", to contact MACC immediately to facilitate investigations into the company.

SRC International was a subsidiary of 1Malaysia Development Bhd (1MDB) until it was placed under the Finance Ministry in 2012.
