The Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) will investigate allegations that the authorities were trying to protect illegal gambling premises around Sungai Buloh, said MACC Deputy Chief Commissioner (Operations), Datuk Seri Ahmad Khusairi Yahaya.

Earlier, two 13-minute, 28-second and eight-minute, 29-second video versions made directly by the administrator of the Hot Burger Malaysia Facebook account alleged that the authorities did not monitor gambling activities and the sale of contraband cigarettes in the Sungai Buloh area.

The matter attracted the attention of the Inspector-General of Police, Tan Sri Abdul Hamid Bador who informed that his side will investigate the allegation and will not compromise against those involved in gambling activities.

Following that, Sungai Buloh District Police Chief, Superintendent Shafa'aton Abu Bakar in a press conference yesterday informed that her team had conducted six raids at separate locations around Bandar Baru Sungai Buloh yesterday.

She said the police will call an individual known as Asri Janggut who is suspected of transmitting the video to assist in the investigation.

According to her, the video that had gone viral on social media can cause slander and damage the image of the police in dealing with gambling activities in Sungai Buloh.
