The Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) today arrested a secretary-general (KSU) of Ministry of Rural and Regional Development (KKLW) over alleged abuse of power and for receiving bribes.

The 'Datuk', 59, was arrested at his Subang Jaya residence in Selangor at 8am today for his part, in receiving bribes during his previous appointments at several Ministries.

This was confirmed by MACC Deputy Chief Commissioner, Datuk Azam Baki during a 'live' interview on Astro AWANI 7.45pm bulletin, here today.

"Yes, the officer is holds the position of secretary-general rom KKLW. He was arrested at his residence between 8am and 11am today," said Azam.


He also confirmed that cash and gold nuggets amounting to RM3 million were seized during the arrest.

Also arrested was a 29-year-old individual believed to be the 'middle man' in receiving the bribes from
contractors, suppliers and vendors for the suspect.
