Claims made by an individual in a recorded video about working for the Sarawak Report aimed at toppling Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak, has been dismissed by the portal.

Rahman Dahlan in a statement yesterday said that the individual had been directly involved in falsifying facts in articles published by the Sarawak Report.

According to the portal, the attempt to question the credibility to their report is seen as a 'desperate move'.

The portal also denied that Lester Melanyi, the man depicted in the video ever worked for them or falsify any of their reports.

"He (Lester) has never written for Sarawak Report. We are surprised such allegations were made," said the portal.

Previously, the country was shocked with reports made by The Wall Street Journal (WSJ) and Sarawak Report that revealed funds closed to AS$700 million (RM2.6 billion) was deposited into an account believed to be the Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak personal account.

The report was made based on documents from investigations made by the government which were obtained by the paper as well as Sarawak Report.
