The Electric Train Service (ETS) connecting Kuala Lumpur and Butterworth will be ready next month, said Transport Minister Datuk Seri Liow Tiong Lai.

He said federal and Perak government leaders would try out a test run from from Ipoh to Kuala Lumpur to see for themselves the effectiveness of the service before it becomes fully operational.

"The ETS will be a boon for people living along its route. I will announce when it will be opened to the public on July 9 and the packages that will be offered," he said.

Liow, who is also MCA president. told this to reporters after opening Lumut MCA's annual general meeting in Kampung Selamat here Sunday.
